Oronde Jenkins Oronde joined the Tri-Masters Sports Initiative Programs in the summer of 1992. Since then, he has completed numerous triathlons, including 5 Negril Sprint Triathlons in Negril, Jamaica, as well as many 5K races. Oronde, along with his mother (Sandra, a track & field coach), grandmother (Betty Jean, AKA "mama") and sister (La'Sandra, also a Tri-Masters athlete) are also committed Tri-Masters volunteers.
Oronde started school at the early age of 2. During his years at Dixon Elementary School, Oronde participated in band, the Video and Drama Club (two of his films were bought by the HBO Family Channel!), Student Council, the Academic Olympic team, Computer Club, Golf Club and the school newspaper. Additionally, outside of school, he participated in the All-City Elementary Band, karate and swim team. Oronde attended Payton Prep (Walter J. Payton College Preparatory Math, Science and World Language Academy). His activities include Computer Club (Oronde developed his own web site), school newspaper, Yearbook Club, Radio & TV Club and Problem Solving. Oronde is currently enrolled at Moorehouse College.
